Climbing Adrenaline is coursing through your veins. Your hands bite into sharp crystals of stone. You look down past your tenuously balanced feet to the vastness that falls away for three thousand feet. Your fear struggles to master you and you overcome it through sheer force of will. Why do we do these things? Everyone has their own answer and sometimes I'm not even sure I understand mine, but I do know that some of the most cherished and rewarding experiences of my life have come as a result of my climbing. The physical challenge, the mental and emotional challenge, the friendships, the incredible beauty of the natural world, the indescribable exhilaration of digging deep and pushing past where you believed it was possible to push. |
